Emily & Carson had an elegant Wedding celebration at Venue Chisca in downtown Peoria IL. I attended their rehearsal the evening before, and enjoyed getting to know some of their family & friends before the big day. I was so impressed with Carson in particular. He was so looking forward to finally marry Emily, and he was somewhat running the show. Directing family & friends and keeping the rehearsal moving.
We arrived the following day, to find the Grand Ballroom at Venue Chisca dressed in ivory floral & greens arranged in tall centerpieces, baby’s breath, gold chivari chairs and ivory linens. The color palette paired with the many stately chandeliers gracing the room, created such a warm welcome for their wedding guests.
The entire day was effortless, and had so many special moments. In particular, was the Couple’s first look, with some tears shed and shared private vows
during our photos after they were officially Husband and Wife.
The Couple was announced into their party and immediately went into their first dance as Newlyweds. In my 20 years of wedding experience, this is indeed the best timing for this beloved tradition. Hear me out! Your family and friends have just witnessed you exchange vows and profess your love. Right now, is when they are most excited to see you. They are seated and have seen you walk in. They are not at the bar or in the bathroom, or even socializing. Doing your first dance at this very moment assures that everyone will see it, and it certainly is thee best way to start your evening!
Later in the evening the Grand Ballroom was softly lit by dimmed chandeliers and ample golden candlelight. The band kept the dance floor full and it was a party I am sure friends and family will never forget!
