Autumn at Haven on the Farm, Peoria IL is a sight to behold. The tree lined lane was drenched in warm golden and cinnamon hued leaves…exactly what Claire and Sam had hoped for.
Having worked with the Couple for their engagement photos, I was aware that Sam was not crazy about being in front of the camera. Though he was a rockstar during the session, I made sure to keep my direction lighthearted and to keep his focus on Claire, which he was more than happy to do! I mean just look at her! We took the same approach on their wedding day. If Sam started to get a little ‘distracted’ during portraits, we would give him an exit! It worked well for everyone. Especially our sweet Groom! Thats our focus, keep our couples happy AND document it!
The Couple exchanged vows on the infamous Lane at Haven on the Farm. Lined with trees on both sides, their guests were seated under a canopy of autumn hues. Soft blush, ivory and toffee floral arrangements paired with ivory silk fabric on rich mahogany chairs, dressed the aisle. A moment I wont forget, is when the Couple asked to say hello to the horses grazing in the nearby pasture, As we approached the fence, a gelding was quick to greet us. He was a friendly guy, and seemed smitten with Sam. More than once actually nuzzling the side of Sams head!
As guests entered the Barn for the reception, they were greeted by floral arrangements and candlelight. After heartfelt toasts, the energy on the dance floor stole the show. No DJ, just live music and every single guest was on their feet. The dance floor was filled with movement, laughter and pure joy.
